When connecting your mobile phone to the computer via a USB cable, make sure you choose the correct USB mode for the connection in your mobile phone. There are several USB modes to choose from. To be able to use your phone with Nokia Suite, choose Nokia Suite (or Nokia Ovi Suite, or PC Suite) USB mode.
You can only use Nokia Suite in the Nokia Suite (or Nokia Ovi Suite, or PC Suite) USB mode. If you choose the mass storage mode and have Nokia Suite running, Nokia Suite automatically tries to change the USB mode back to Nokia Suite (or Nokia Ovi Suite, or PC Suite) mode. The automatic change of USB mode does not happen with all phone models.
Tip:
If you want to use the mass storage USB mode to, for example, use a computer program other than Nokia Suite, you cannot have Nokia Suite running at the same time. Choose File > Exit to exit Nokia Suite. When you are finished using the mass storage USB mode, change it back to Nokia Suite (or Nokia Ovi Suite, or PC Suite) mode and reopen Nokia Suite.
For information on supported USB cable types, see System requirements given below.
To choose the USB mode, do either of the following:
To choose the USB mode separately each time you connect your phone to the computer, choose Nokia Suite (or Nokia Ovi Suite, or PC Suite) USB mode on your phone when the phone prompts you to choose the USB mode to be used.
To choose Nokia Suite (or Nokia Ovi Suite, or PC Suite) as a default USB mode on your phone, go to Settings > Connectivity or Connection depending on the term used on your phone, and under USB cable, choose Nokia Suite (or Nokia Ovi Suite, or PC Suite) USB mode. Then you do not need to choose the correct mode each time you connect your phone to the computer. Note that this is not possible with all phone models.
Note:
Always check that you use original Nokia cables with Nokia Suite. Check the labelling on your cable.
