Facebook Pages are for businesses, brands and organizations to share their stories and connect with people. Like profiles,
you can customize Pages by posting stories, hosting events, adding apps
and more. People who like your Page and their friends can get updates
in News Feed.
You can create and manage a Page from your personal account.
Note:
If you want to create a Page to represent a business, brand,
organization or celebrity, you must be an official representative.
To Create a FB Page:
- Go to facebook.com/pages/create
- Click to choose a Page category
- Select a more specific category from the drop-down menu and fill out the required information
- Click Get Started and follow the on-screen instructions.
To Merge Your FB Pages:
Note: If you're an admin
of both Pages, you may be able to merge them. This option is only
available for Pages that represent the same thing and have similar
names. If your Pages have physical locations, make sure the addresses are the same.
- Go to facebook.com/pages/merge
- Select the Page you want to keep from the first drop-down menu, then select the Page you want to merge from the second drop-down menu
- If your Pages can be merged, click Confirm.
The people who like your Pages and any check-ins will be combined, but posts, photos, reviews, ratings and the username
will be deleted from the Page you merge. The Page you want to keep will
remain unchanged, except for the addition of people who like the Page
and check-ins that were merged from the other Page. The Page you don't
want to keep will be removed from Facebook, and you won't be able to
unmerge it.
Note: If you don't see the option to
merge your Pages, it means that your Pages aren't eligible to be merged.
If you see the option to request to merge your Pages, your request will
be reviewed by Facebook.
What Page names are allowed on Facebook?
Page
names must accurately reflect the Page. Keep in mind that only
authorized representatives can manage a Page for a brand, place,
organization or public figure.
Page names can't include:
- Terms or phrases that may be abusive or violate someone's rights.
- Improper capitalization. Page names must use grammatically correct capitalization and may not include all capital letters, except for acronyms.
- Symbols (ex: ® ) or unnecessary punctuation.
- Long descriptions, such as a slogan. People who manage Pages can add this information to a Page's About section.
- Any variation of the word "Facebook."
- Misleading words. If a Page isn't the official Page of a brand, place, organization or public figure, the Page name can't mislead others into thinking it's an official Page or that it's managed by an authorized representative.
Page names can't consist only of:
- Generic words (ex: Pizza). Pages must be managed by official representatives of the topics they're about.
- Generic geographic locations (ex: Mumbai).
